The Pelican 1440 case was created deep to fit contents of unique shape. With so many layers of pick and pluck foam you will be guaranteed a snug fit for your equipment. The Pelican 1440 case is similar to the Pelican 1430, but larger and also has wheels with an extension handle. The design of the Pelican 1440 case is great for accessing contents in tight spaces such as on a boat or the back of a truck. The Pelican 1440 case is a 100% waterproof case and will not crack, break or otherwise fail under extreme conditions. Pelican 1440 Case is waterproof, dustproof and crushproof.

The Pelican 1440 case has 2 latches unique to Pelican Products. The latches utilize what's called a double throw feature. When the 1440 is shut it will remain shut in transit until you're ready to open it. When opening the Pelican 1440 case the latch will pry against itself in two motions creating a "pry bar" effect. This means the Pelican 1440 case can be easily opened even under pressure from the contents inside. An automatic pressure equalizer built into the Pelican 1440 case will allow air to flow freely in and out, but nothing else such as water. The benefit of this feature is that the 1440 case can be easily opened in high altitudes eliminating the vacuum effect.
